Trevor Mascarenhas

Trevor Mascarenhas has been heavily involved in all aspects of commercial and fraud litigation throughout his career with PCB Litigation.

Key, high-profile cases on which he has acted have involved co-ordinating proceedings in and considering the law of a number of jurisdictions including Cyprus, France, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, Guernsey, Dubai, Lichtenstein, Russia, Switzerland, Greece, Florida, Belize and Saudi Arabia: a clear demonstration of his expertise in complex, cross-border matters.

He has conducted a number of multi-million dollar international fraud cases involving aluminium, oil, real estate and credit card processing companies. He has also successfully defended a former director of a football club in relation to suspect payments and a diamond dealer accused of knowingly receiving the proceeds of fraud. Trevor has also acted for an exclusive London casino in obtaining freezing orders against and successfully pursuing a number of its debtors.

Trevor has also assisted in the preparation of a case before a Canadian appeal court that involved a series of disclosure orders made against an alleged fraudster's bank accounts and has acted in international broadcasting and trust litigation.

In addition, he represents a number of property developers and deals with significant commercial disputes.

On the academic side, amongst other articles and papers, Trevor contributes to publications such as the UK Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners' Fraud Manual and the E-Commerce Law Reports. Having earned himself the accolade of the media as 'an Internet fraud expert', he is has given presentations to the FSA on European aspects of cybercrime and on confidential information and identity theft.

After graduating in Mathematics at Cambridge, Trevor took a degree in Law at London University before joining PCB Litigation as a trainee solicitor in 1998. He qualified in September 2000 and was made a partner of the firm in April 2003.
