PCB have recovered a substantial percentage of misappropriated funds from those that allowed the theft to occur and were therefore responsible.
On 21 March, a fraudulent banking website that was being hosted in Pakistan was taken down through PCB using its contacts.

On 9 March Anthony Riem appeared on BBC News to discuss how the bringing of financial charges against Terry Adams reflected a growing trend in targeting the assets of organised crime to successfully combat fraud.
On 7 March Steven Philippsohn was quoted by the BBC as saying that the latest fraud estimates provided by the Association of Chief Police Officers did not reflect the true scale of the problem. This was because incidents of fraud were under-reported which was in part caused by the low priority assigned to fraud by governments in recent years, and a steady slide in the number of police available to deal with it.
