PCB Litigation have been retained in relation to a shareholder dispute involving China, Germany and the UK.
Anthony Riem of PCB Litigation was quoted in the Law Society Gazette on how the whistle-blowing protection afforded by the US Sarbanes-Oxley legislation may apply to companies outside the United States.
Steven Philippsohn was quoted in The Times in an article about the confusing state of non-dom taxation. The article addressed concerns about the current lack of certainty for non-doms and their tax lawyers, uncertainty which is likely to continue for at least 12 months.
The article did however suggest that the steps being taken may signal a more serious intent by the authorities to tackle tax evasion. A point on which Steven Philippsohn was quoted in the following terms:
"We have seen a very, very positive move by the authorities to be much more effective in the steps they take [in tackling tax evasion]. I think that is to be welcomed."
